Jim Moncus has been honored by Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) and Louisiana Governor and First Lady Edwards as one of the five 2017 Louisiana Legends. (See http://www.lpb.org/index.php/legends) This award “honors the best and brightest of Louisiana’s sons and daughters who have distinguished themselves in a variety of disciplines and have brought honor to the state.”
Jim will be honored at the 2017 Louisiana Legends Gala and Auction at the Old State Capitol on Thursday, March 30, 2017. At the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Luncheon Jonathan Day, “a well respected lawyer in Houston” and a Lamar '58 classmate, will be one of the four honorees. The luncheon will be held May 3, 2012 at the River Oaks Country Club (well known back in the day as the “other” country club anchoring the ends of River Oaks Boulevard).
