NOte: this is a shorter version of his April 2013 post. I have been a member of the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) for 30 years. I have had a competition license since 1971 when I raced professionally with IMSA. At Sebring, we had a standalone race weekend the March 1st weekend, and a support race for the Rolex 12 Hour on the March 15 weekend. I race a 1963 Z06 Corvette coupe (SWC) in Group 6, which includes Cobras, GT350 Mustangs, XK-E, Lotus 26R, 327 Corvettes and Sunbeam Tigers. I am not a fast guy, but I am honored to be invited to compete. These vintage races are about the cars, not the drivers, nor about winning. My car is reliable, and we are usually a mid pack runner. For all who are interested in Motorsports, I hope you find this story interesting, and I hope to see you all at MontereyJ Here's a link to a Sports Car Digest article on" 12 hours of Sebring 2013. This video is of the SVRA cars. |
